Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people marched down Ave. Septima today protesting against bullfighting.

Bullfighting,
La Fiesta Brava, has been in the news recently because of a legal battle over whether or not the practice can take place in Bogotá's Santa Maria Plaza. Mayor Petro has not allowed bullfighting there for the last two years, but a court ruled a few weeks ago that the mayor lacked the authority to prohibit the practice. The mayor has appealed the ruling.
Meanwhile, a group of young bullfighters are carrying out a hunger strike in front of the plaza, demanding that it be reopened to bullfights.

This demonstration received attention because of an
anti-bullfighting flyer which appeared to threaten the lives of the striking bullfighters.
