Plaza Bolivar's Protest Tree

The Christmas tree skeleton being built in Plaza Bolivar made a convenient framework for protesters' posters.

Todays university student marches ended on Plaza Bolivar, just in time for a rainstorm. There, the Christmas tree under construction got new clothes. Makes sense, since Colombia is supposed to be a secular nation.

Partying down to the music.
The statue of Simon Bolivar gets company, and a costume.

Meanwhile, nearby on Jimenez Ave, bored riot police take refuge under a restaurant awning.

A casket for the District University?
