The
People's Congress, or
Congreso de los Pueblos, is being held on the
National University's Bogotá campus. To the congress came members of Colombia's indigenous peoples and Afro-Colombians, who share the same status as the indigenous.
Indigenous and black Colombians are among those who have suffered the most from the nation's half-century long armed conflict.
