The La Macarena's joggers and dog walkers were surprised the other morning when they discovered that the half dozen horses of Parque de La Independencia's historic merry-go-round had disappeared. The wooden horses probably didn't gallop off on their own. Overnight, some particularly greedy and shameless thieves had cut them off and carried them away.
Until the city finds money to replace the horses or the thieves become remorseful and bring them back, children won't be going merrily around in Parque de la Independencia.
