The March for Good Citizenship

During a bike tour today we met this dauntlessly optimistic group marching down Ave. Septima today calling for 'cultura ciudadana', or polite behavior, amongst Bogotanos.

When that revolution arrives, drivers will respect stop signs and pedestrians and not lean on their horns at every momentary delay, drunks will stay at home, Bogotanos will discover the trash can, homeless scavengers won't scatter trash over streets and sidewalks, motorists will install emissions controls, kids will read instead of playing violent video games...and on and on.

It's a brave hope.

One thing you can say for this group: Their march was peaceful, quiet and orderly. I didn't see them hurl a single paint bomb at a building or a policeman.
