Beach Bullfighting?

A strange cultural juxtaposition is going on in Bogotá's Santamaria Bullfighting Stadium, where the city is now holding beach volleyball tournaments.

But the hopeful young toreros are still there, as well, practicing their passes with imaginary bulls and dreaming of stardom - even tho their profession is in accelerating decline in the wake of Bogotá Mayor Gustavo Petro's decision to end bullfighting here.

And those young toreros do look more than a little bit strange jousting against imaginary bulls on a beach volleyball court.

But, maybe that's the future of la fiesta brava - to be practiced, like a video game, against imaginary bulls.
